Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Big Coat ("the app"), provided by Purple Ohm Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11643197), whose registered office is 1 Tennyson Close, Kenilworth, CV8 2TD, United Kingdom. By using the app you agree to them.

The service

The app generates a personalised daily weather and outfit brief from third-party forecast data and delivers it by push notification, home-screen widget, and/or email, at the times and for the location(s) you set. On paid plans it also writes a trip brief on request: a forecast and a packing checklist for a destination and dates you give it.

Weather is a forecast, not a guarantee

Briefs are informational guidance based on third-party forecasts, which can be wrong or can change. Do not rely on the app for decisions where weather accuracy is safety-critical. The service is provided "as is", with no warranty as to forecast accuracy.

Weather data and attribution

Weather data by Open-Meteo.com, licensed under CC BY 4.0. Forecast and air-quality data are aggregated by Open-Meteo from national meteorological services. We add the wording and the recommendations; the underlying figures are theirs.

Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

• Paid subscriptions are offered on a monthly or annual basis and are sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
• Where a free trial is offered, its length is shown at purchase. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours

before the trial ends it converts automatically to a paid subscription at the price shown.

• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
• Manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
• Refunds are governed by the store's policy, not by us.

Acceptable use

Don't abuse, overload, reverse-engineer, or resell the service, and don't use it unlawfully.

Your account

You're responsible for access to the email address you sign in with. You can delete your account at any time in the app; we may suspend or end accounts that breach these terms.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made in reliance on a forecast. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
